  1. Thanks for the compliments folks. It's been some time since I've been able to do an update. My computer went waaaay south on me and I had to buy a new one. It was loaded with Windows 10, and Man...I had to learn all the idiosyncrasies ( had to look that word up...spell check didn't even come close..LOL). Here is an update: The chassis is ALMOST complete. Still have to finish with the fuel cell and mount it in plus run the fuel line to the fuel log on the carb. Front end is done. the rear is complete along with the brake lines from the master cylinder. I still have to make the Racing harness and mount the seat in after they are made. The first coat of the first color will be shot on in a day or so. It's starting to look like a finished car. Here are a few pics for a look see.... The front with the poseable steering... Rear end with the Brake plumbing... Filters on Carb and valve cover. The Spring and throttle linkage are added here too... The other side to see fuel log..and interior work..... There's still a few things to finish but it's starting to give that let's fire it up feel. Thanks for looking in folks....
  2. Hey there Mr. Susan...Life is grand here. A little hot but GOOD. The Resin is about the same. The Music business is on the slow side of the record for me. I've really retired for the most part. REALLY keeping myself busy with scale builds though. My computer went away on me and I had to get another one. It's got windows 10 and I'm still learning all the different locations and wording that they've added or TAKEN AWAY. I had to cut back to 32 bit so I can run my ALPS printer. I will say though...this puppy does RUN a WHOLE BUNCH FASTER. Still... In my opinion...XP was a great program....easy to figure out and run... But....(the infamous BUT....LOL) I'm learning this one know. It's taken me awhile and I hope to have update pics on my 31 build here pretty soon. Hope you're doing good down there. I'll bet it's "cook'in".
  3. Man Dave...it's been awhile. Your work still looks way kool! Great fab work. I really like the way you made the hood open too...Thanks for sharing and I'm looking forward to more pics...
  4. Thanks for all the great compliments folks... I just got my computer back from the shop and it's got windows 10 in it and I'm still working with it. Trying to learn all the NEW stuff. I do have update pics to take and load in. As soon as I get to that....I'll post a few update pics....
  5. You did an outstanding job on this Nova Bob. It sure hits the mark of the type of street cars that ran( cruze'd) the streets when I was in High School.
  6. Man Bob....you did a very good job on this bad boy. Very clean work annnnd...the engine bay looks ready to fire up.
  7. That interior is really looking good Joe. Good clean work. The TAZZ floor mats and the gear shifter with the 8 ball are way too Kool!!
  8. Here's an update ...The fab work on this bad boy is complete. The cowl screen along with the windshield screen have been built. The Air cleaner...side nerf bars and the hood with the mud guard are also complete. The priming has all ready began but...everything can be primed now. Then it's color. Here are a few pics to look at...Thanks for looking in folks.... The air cleaner and side bars... The hood with shield and pins...
  9. That REALLY looks GREAT ED! Very clean work. My folks also owned one of these. It had a White Landau top with blue body and lt. blue interior. Nice car to ride in.
  10. Thanks Mark, for the compliment. This build is just about ready for primer. The side nerf bars need to be built and then it's off to the paint shop....
  11. That engine really fills the engine bay...don't it. It makes this puppy look mean as all get out. Especially with the sit you got on the body. Looking way cool MARK. What body color are going with??
  12. Here's an update on some of the small stuff that takes time to figure out and build. A battery Box was fabbed along with padding and rib bolsters on the seat. The seat will be covered in a black fabric so it won't be so shinny. A fire extinguisher was sourced from a parts box but had to be modified to a hand held type. The brake master cylinder was also sourced from the 34 ford kit and the fluid reservoir had to be fabbed...here are a few pics to look at...thanks for looking in folks.... The battery box... New seat padding... The master cylinder.. On the firewall.. Fire extinguisher....
  13. Hey Joe...(Hmmm...the thought just accurd to me...that could be a name of a song!!! ) All kidding aside.....here's a link to PRO-TECH. Charlie carries the best braided hose that's out there. It has a wire center in it and it bends and keeps it's shape. Good stuff. That's all I use know. Here's the link...go in and look around. Charlie is a GREAT guy to deal with. Here's the link.... http://protechmodelparts.com/
  14. Thanks for the comps. I've gotten more finished on this puppy but need to shoot pics. The battery box needs to be done along with the Fire Extinguisher. As soon as i get them finished...I'll post them.....
  15. Thanks again Joe...it's starting to look like a Dirt car... Here's an update....The dash and Gauges have been fabbed. Still need to do the three toggle switches. The front shock mounts have also been fabbed and are in the basic shapes in the pics. I will let them set for a day or so and then file them to shape. The seat is also in it's position along with the shifter. Here are a few pics...Thanks for looking in...
  16. Thanks for the compliment joe..... Here's an update....95% of the bar work is complete. The front shock mounts need to be fabbed along with the racing harness mounting points. The Dash also needs to be fabbed along with all the gauges. This chassis is just about ready for primer/paint. Here are a few pics of the bar work....
  17. Here's a little progress update....The interior sheet work is finished and Front and Back Hoops are in. The front hoop stress cracked when I put the top bars in with MEK, which of course made them weak. That also means that I didn't heat the rod enough to keep it solid. But...it's an easy fix and I'll do that tomorrow when I put the side and back cross bars in. This whole setup is pinned and will be removable to paint...thanks for stop'in in folks...
  18. This is really looking good. I like the final stance too. That idea of using gun metal over kit chrome is a good one. I also have used Tamiya Smoke ( X-19) thinned down a little. Light passes with an air brush just to knock down the Brightness a little. Keep post'in this great work you're doing Stang Man...
  19. Hey Bob...I'm glad this build has given you some inspiration. That's a pretty kool kit. Steve Kinser is the ALL time Championship winner. There are A LOT of Drivers that I like....A.J.Foyt,The Unser's, The Sneva Brothers, The list is a very LONG one. But...I don't think there's a Driver or Team out there that can come close to Steve's record of 20 Championships. What a Driver....
  20. Here's a little update...I changed the bolsters on the bottom of the seat...I like this a lot better. They need filled and sanded to shape as they are in their basic form right now.... Here it is sanded to shape....
  21. Here's a small update to show that I did build something today...LOL.. I took the seat from the 34 Rod kit and made it into a Racing seat. The seat is in mockup as I just finished with all the fab work. Now...it's sanding to shape time. Here's a few pics for a look... Thanks for look'in in.....
  22. The front wheels are poseable now...thru the rack that was built. It won't have a working steering wheel though. I thought about it but....I really didn't want to get into the gearing thing on this build.
  23. Thank you Bob...sure miss Johnny Here's a few looks at the interior floor and tranny tunnel. I took the seat out of the 34 Rod kit and it needs Modified. Now I need to get the firewall and the back wall built...then the bars will go in. Thanks for stop'in by and look'in....
