  1. Also remember, no matter the brushing, thinning, or your abilities. Sometimes you just get a Friday or Monday can of paint. I sprayed my Hummel and the Flat OD was actually semigloss. The paint was fully mixed and I even brushed some onto a test tank and it dried semigloss as well to verify that I hadn't messed up. When I re-fire today, I'll use a different tin.

  2. Andy,

Very nice (even if it is a plane). Looks great. I have read reviews of Eduard's Hetzer and it was all good too. Keep them coming!

Dennis, is the weekend version like Dragon's Smart Kit?

  3. Having no interior shots of any of the five Syrian Hummels I guessed what kind of mount was used. It could have even been a swing arm contraption. I know they made some weird DSHK mounts for their T-34/85s and Stug IIIs. Hopefully get some more work this week and weekend.

  4. I just to think it was to relax myself and enjoy the build. After last nights painting episode, I'm not so sure. There I was painting the Hummel and waiting for the Humbrol FLAT olive drab to dry so I could see where I may have missed. After 30 minutes it was still not flat. I touched and found it to be dry. I checked the tin and it was fully mixed. Luckily, since I have to gloss it anyways it isn't that big a deal but it sure made me wonder why I do this. It must be to enjoy the "overcoming of adversity".

  5. Actually Verlinden does do white metal. I think it may have something to do with import/export regulations. I have several of their figure sets (Vietnam tank crew) in both metal and resin. Exact same figures and castings....just metal as opposed to resin. There may have been a country where resin was illegal to import to (that would be my only guess).
