The location is the Heritage Center, 109 Delaware Street, conveniently located near restaurants, shops, and hotels in downtown Leavenworth. This year's special theme will be 'could of, would of, should of' featuring prototype vehicles that never went into full production. This could be a prototype automobile, tank that they only make a few copies of, or an X version aircraft- get building! Vendor tables are $10 each, and have sold outthe past two years, so if you want to reserve a table, please don't wait. Doors open for vendors at 8:00 for early set-up.     801 W 1st Street, Grimes, IA, 50111 The Hawkeye Modelers are having a show to celebrate the club's 50th Anniversary. We plan to have awards that are called Celebrating the Decades, each one for the best model representing one of 5 decades ( 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, and 2010s), for which the item depicted was in service, built, or used in (not the model in of itself). These awards will be determined by participant voting, each participant getting a form at model registration, and will need to choose the model they think best fits each decade. (Modelsare limited to one decade, so please choose the best one if it covered more than one decade of service) There will be juried awards, for the following: Best of Show, Theme - BEST OF '69, and Best of Category Awards (Aircraft, Military Vehicles, Automotive, Science Fiction, Real Space, Ships, Figures, Juniors, Diorama, and Miscellaneous) Registration opens at 9 AM, and closes at Noon. Awards presentation 'planned' for 3 PM. Contest entry fee will be $10 for each participant, limited to 5 models that can be entered. We plan to have Vendors, and a Raffle. Grimes has several fast food and quality sit-down restaurants locally. The best way to find our event is to use Google Maps or one of the many GPS locators and type in the wording 'Parker Coliseum at LSU'. The Parker Coliseum has a parking lot where 'Highland Road' intersects with 'Stadium Drive' Parker Coliseum. Once you haveparked within the parking lot, the building where the contest will be held is located south of the parking area. There will a Raffle, Kid's Make and Take, Lunch and Snacks for sale on-site. Every year the 'Baton Rouge Scale Modelers' club picks a contest theme. The plastic scale model that best depicts the theme will win the theme award. This year's theme is'First Things First'. The more creative your model is towards the theme the better your chances are on winner the Theme award.   23. 5575 Legionnaire Dr, Cicero, NY, 13039 SyrCon has been in existence for over thirty years as an annual local model contest. We feature many categories including many for Juniors, as we always promote the hobby to our junior modelers. We also have many special awards beyond the norm. For example, we have a 'Best model by a Female' and the 'IronMan Award'. We normally have over 200 models at our contest, and over 80 participants. We also feature over 30 vendor tables and a large raffle table with over 100 items for contest-goers to win prizes. Ourclub members prepare all year for the contest, drumming up support from external sources as well as ourselves. We take pride in the show and do our best on the day of the contest to represent our club in the best light.
