  1. Looks good, the chrome plating is a problem every car modeler knows well. Hawk did a series of chrome plated aircraft that included a P-51, P-47, T-33, OV-10A and several others. Testors used to reissue them without chrome. I still have the P-51 and Bearcat.
  2. I enjoyed the Belushi version, but would be more inclined to build the Bogart tank.
  3. Did you use the MB models Allied Forces crew figures? Looks good.
  4. I am looking forward to the M3 Lee, one of my favorite tanks. I always wondered why the Academy kit had so many issues since it was made fairly recently and is widely available to examine to get it right. I did get a couple of them though. This kit might make those obsolete.
  5. It's about a dozen lines below this general model forum, towards the bottom of this section.
  6. there's a sale forum to list these in.
  7. Is this the same aircraft as Matchbox did in 1/72 scale? Black underside for night time bombing raids.
  8. Don't feel bad; this site is more akin to crickets chirping for all genres, not just automotive.
  9. Nice job, I obtained a partial one along with an Academy M10 turret. With any luck, I can scrounge up leftovers to complete it as an M10.
  10. I should have a couple of them Mark. Just take a photo of the sprues, and I should be able to tell.
  11. Just curious because of the scale is the same and the unusual camouflage scheme is one I've only seen with the Matchbox kit.
  12. That AZ models Huey Cobra looks a lot like the box art of the old Matchbox kit; is it a rebox?
  13. One of my favorite airplanes since I first built the Matchbox Harrier. Nice jobs.
  14. I was fortunate when I bought the Cavalier stuff; Great Model had a clearance and mismarked it as 1/32 scale, but it was 1/48 scale. Paid a real low price, plus I'm not all that into doing German armor, but even I knew that the Porsche turret King Tiger needed zimmerit.
  15. Nice, I was already out of the car building mode by 1983 (with the exception of building an AMT VW Rabbit, since my very first new car was an 84 Rabbit). I was never a Camaro liking guy, always leaned towards the smaller Japanese sports cars.I still have troubling motivating myself to finish building automobiles. I like seeing old builds get new life, good luck.
  16. I've used Eduard and Part (from Poland) PE zimmerit in 1/72 scale. In the smaller scales, it is Ok. Verlinden does some 1/35 stuff in PE too I think. My only Cavalier set is for the 1/48 scale Tamiya King Tiger. Looks pretty good and easy to work with.
  17. Atak made resin zimmerit. I have a few 1/72 scale sets, but I know they do 1/35 too. http://atakmodel.istore.pl/en/zimmerit-1-35
  18. Nice job, I picked it up and the live action movie versions of the Mark V and VI by Jada, some nice kits.
  19. They put together tank battalions from war display tanks, repainting them would not be of high priority.
  20. There are many online retailers, like Squadron.com, that carry aftermarket decals. Just visit the online retailers site, and type in the specific scale and version of the model and results will appear. Be careful since decals for one mark of the Spitfire may not be proper for another mark. Decals are often very specific as to what version plane they go on.
  21. That type of X-Acto knife has been around well over a decade. I had a photo of one in an article I wrote for Armorama back in 2001. It's the X2000 knife, so I think it might have been released in 2000.
  22. I was fortunate to trade away an Academy M163 Vulcan and in return get both a Vulcan Mk VIc and the Hobby Boss EBR. Also found the 1/72 scale Bandai TIE Interceptor at my local Hobby Lobby.
  23. this site has some gear http://www.aim72.co.uk/page71.html they list a blue steel bomb trolley as a future release under the V-bomber category.
  24. Nice work, I enjoy the 1/48 scale Tamiya tanks. Easy, pleasant construction with just enough detail. My only gripe is the limited line; I'd love to see more modern armor like Bradleys and Abrams, M113. They've done some very nice JGSDF vehicles.
