About Me
Long time IPMS member. Special interest is submarines, IPMS liaison for The SubCommittee SIG. Writer for SubCommittee magazine; mainly reviews of display models and submarine history articles. I also write submarine technical articles for American Submariner magazine. I have a large collection of submarine model kits, builds and plan-sets. Advisor for Michael White’s “Project Azorian” documentary film (PBS) and Norman Polmar’s “Project Azorian” book (Naval Institute Press). I have technical drawings for the Russian Golf II submarine K-129 as well as the Project Azorian hardware (Glomar Explorer, Capture Vehicle, HMB-1 barge). Known to also have a weakness for models and information on WW2 & Cold War aircraft, as well as real spacecraft. I have an extensive collection of photographs (Nikon DSLR) of submarines, several aircraft museums (East & West Coast) and Air Show photos.
In real life, l have a Ph.D. In Microbiology, and am currently a staff scientist at Harvard Medical School, Boston, Ma. Previously worked in new antibiotic R&D to combat resistant bacteria at AstraZeneca, Pfizer, & Bristol-Myers Squibb. Formerly Assistant Professor at the Rockefeller University, New York, N.Y.
