  1. Thanks guys ! Next time photos will be at the time. :-)
  2. Model was presented in other IPMS USA subforum - Aircraft. But it is related with the actual theme. Unit 809. Sqn Fleet Air Arm, based on carrier HMS Victorius
  3. I hope is not too late. Model OOB. Old Academy kit. Relation from bench : http://www.shinden.org/modele/gallery/p20/index.php?position=0.3.57&dlevel=2
  4. Thanks Gil :-) In the cockpit and for the engine I used wash technique (artistic enamel black mixed with dark brown or umber). On the edges (small area near sight, the sight, and pilot seat) was applied pencil B sign (to buy in the shop for painters). Model is very fast in building - very good for training in painting and for collection unit planes on airfield or war diorama.
  5. The next step were engine and propeller painting and last preparation for masking.
  6. MiG from Poland! Looks fine. :-) What scale is it ? 1/48 ?
  7. Ok ... next steps :-) Last few days I finished fuselage's montage, and I started painting. The first was cockpit.
  8. Hi, Last week I started building F4F from Hobby Boss kit on my bench. In the box everything was OK. After ... I had one "surprise". The model had not good fitted lower part "complex" wings with the bottom part of fuselage in the tail section. It needed to scrap that part to better fitting with fuselage and reconstruction panel lines. The rest was OK. Lower windows part needed for a better fitting with fuselage cutting off positioning pins. A few photos from start.
  9. It makes effect ... I'm waiting for next steps from the workbench.
  10. Ok ... I'm looking on Your W-shop ... I don't know what will be easier in that case ... building from scratch or "OOB vacu" ? :-) Very good lesson how to build bigger vac models.
  11. Dick, I found one old decal sheet witch Czech markings ... I'll never use it. Sent me Your post address via private message. It'll be sent tommorow. Additionally I found details photoetched kit : http://www.part.pl/s72/s72086.jpg'>http://www.part.pl/s72/s72086.jpg http://www.part.pl/ - it is producer's web page with catalogue

    Fulmar finished

Thanks Guys ! :-) большое спасибо бородарус ! :D Model is done from Smer kit. Scale 1/72. Why the American's stars on the plane ... because French Vichy soldiers remembered very good British attack on French fleet in Mers el Kebir and Dakar ... better relations were with Americans, and French defense was not too hard when they saw only American markings ... Plane was in use by 809 Sqn Fleet Air Arm stationed on carrier HMS Victorius. That unit was used for TAC/R missions over French land positions. Informations were sent to US units, which fought on French Morocco territory. It was one unit with that type of plane in the operation. In that time one plane was damaged by a AA fire, and second damaged ditched before achieving HMS Victorius. 13 November 1942 HMS Victorius went back to UK. 19 Nov Unit was moved to land base. In April 1943 unit left Fulmars and took Seafire's as a new equipment.
  13. The kit was produced by Polish manufacturer ZTS Plastyk (.. 20 years ago ...), Now the forms are in use by Mastercraft. It costs about 2,5 - 3 USD. http://www.martola.c..._civil_war_1936 A few years ago were avalilable photoetched parts for that kit.
  14. Polish plane ... and an old polish kit :-) First time I see with Czech markings. "What if" or real plane ?
  15. Final gallery ... Photos from workbench : link
  16. Last photos from the bench ... Painting was easy, and only a few points needed better concentration - air intakes, undercarriage, and undercarriage bays. Antenna wires needed a "few minutes" but it was done. Final gallery : http://forum.ipmsusa3.org/index.php?/topic/8449-fulmar-finished/ Model finished ... :-) Final gallery : http://forum.ipmsusa3.org/index.php?/topic/8449-fulmar-finished/
  17. Last week report ... Model was prepared for painting ... Additional lights were done from scratch ... and I painted small surfaces.
  18. Last few days i have a lot of work with filling, polishing and painting ... but work on the bench goes forward ...
  19. You're right Gil, In this case is problem with additional plastic sheet filing, because upper surfaces undercarriage bay are divided by upper surfaces the wings. Everything what I put between wings and fuselage is visible in the bay. With Super Glue work goes faster ... but Your solution is better from model's strength point of view and risk is minimal. I have to use it in next similar cases on the bench. Wings profile is thick and lower skin model's wings is in one part - I hope Super Glue will be minimal needed solution in case of Fulmar. From the other side - producer should divide model's wings just like in real plane with folding wings. The same solution was in old Hellcat's Airfix kit.
  20. I haven't got any bigger problem, but the kit needs attention. In my opinion wings / fuselage fitting could be better. On the photos it is looking very simple, but surfaces for glue with fuselage over main undercarriage bays, are very small and thin. You have to glue it on the surface with thickness equals about 1 mm. I have broken it one time and it was corrected using Super Glue.
