  1. Some time ago there was a TV movie of the Invaders starring Scott Bacula. Near the end Roy Thinnes had a small part as David Vincent. How are the Martian war machines from Pegasus?

    Tank Found

    They found this: http://www.rense.com/general75/germ.htm
  4. War of the Worlds is deffinately up there. What about: Stargate The Time Machine not to forget: The Crawling Eye World Without End
  5. R.I.P. Will his casket be lined in real Corinthian leather?
  6. Of all the places that I've been with B-52's, "D", "G", or "H", the onl hatches I've seen open were the crew entrance hatch under the nose, weapons maintennance hatches for the tail gun, and the hatch for the drag chute. I have never seen the hatches over the flight deck opened.
  7. From what I've seen of the National Guard back then, their aircraft did not carry pilot's names like the regular Air Force. This is one of their aircraft on display at Lackland AFB in the early 70's: This is the 1/72nd Hasegawa kit in Microscale's Texas markings the I sent to the White House some years ago:
  8. Looks pretty good. I remember these guys at Korat. I have a couple "D" SLUFFS in line for building this year. This one will look like this:
  9. Any idea what the "improved" 706 is supposed to look like? The one they call a 706 in vietnam is a V-100. I need at least one of the Air Force version with the slanted top armor and no turret like in the pictures.
  10. Look at the open rear top hatch area. The same thing with our M-113s: Now the question is.....why do you need the inside colors? Did you come across a model of the 706 the has an interior? The Verlinden only had the driver's area open a little, otherwise it's a block of resin. When I built mine I had to cut off the entire top and add the armor walls front, rear, and side gun mounts and blast doors. Here's a couple shots I took of My vehicle on day while waiting for the rest of my team to load up. Do you have a particular squadron in mind? Not all squadrons had them equipped or painted the same. these vehicles were stationed at Ubon: These were at Korat: These are from U-Tapao: For instance, U-Tapao did not have shields for their M-60s. Also they were prevented from mounting 50 cals by the status of forces agreement. They weren't even supposed to have them to begin with but did have two ready to go in the armory. All you had to do was attach the barrel.
  11. Why not this one? For a standard sharkmouth I'm partial to these guys, the 3rd TFS:
  12. As a wild guess.............Dark Star? never good t these things.
  13. Thanks, you make me feel so much younger. I have a AKAI 7 1/2 -10in reel, a receiver with a 8 track and a spare 8 deck that I will be using this last time. I remember when I finally could afford a tape deck, and ater a cassette adapter, for my car I got out my drill and put the necessary holes into the metal dashboard, mounted the unit and spliced the wires into the electrical system of my car. I had to cut holes into the rear deck for the speakers and run the wires along the seats into the trunk. That was worse then when we had to drillholes into the floor boards to mount seatbelts we got from Sears.
  14. I'm south of you. Just outside of Orlando. 6,000 cds? I'd love to see your collection. I'm in the process of transferring all my tapes over to CDs. I'm just finishing up the cassettes, and next the 8 tracks that have never been re-released. After that the biggest part...over 100 reels. That should take several hundred cds.
  15. I'll have to check that one out. Where are you?
  16. I always like that one. I just recorded the soundtrack to a CD the other day.
  17. I've got something on Spectre. I'll look for it when I get back from work.
  18. I had a friend up at POPE AFB once who I helped with a book on the C-130 and who did cartoons of Herks for T-shirts. His work ended up in the base paper at Littlerock. Here's one for Halloween.
  19. At the moment I'm starting to pick up some of the Votoms kits when I can find them. Here's a few things that I've done in the past: A heavy rescue vehicle: A Flea light fighter: A Viper: A rookie on a racing T-Rex: A skimmer class attack craft: A light class mech, the Fireant: and finally, a Skimmer used for rail maintennance:
  20. I remember a couple short stories, don't remember who wrote them, about aliens finding earth. One involves an expedition sent to investigate a dead world and learn what they could about its inhabitants. They came back with a report that included parts of videos they found at what looked like what must have been the cultural or information center for the planet. As the delegation made their report to the leadership they reported that the inhabitants must have been totally insane. They showed pictures of them running vehicles off cliffs, into buildings, blowing things up, running off mountain cliffs and so on. The final conclusion was that the universe was better off now that these lunitics were gone. As the committee filed out one member stood looking at the last image on the main screen and wondered at the vast differences in the way the people looked. One obviously human standing in front of thier capitol buildingm with tall spires, but the others........a tall one with long floppy ears and another with big round ears and large white hands. The second story had the explorers investigation earth some centuries after intelligent life disappeared. They discovered that some of them had apparently left into deep space, leaving the course they had taken behind for others to follow. The expedition fleet set out to find them. Finally after some months following the course they found a large fleet of rockets. Th explorers were making comments that they must be mad to try a trip like this in chemical burning ships and wondered if they should offer assistance to them. After all, they might turn out to be a surperior life form and start to take over. But then they were only in rockets and outnumbered about three billion to one, no problem. The last line was something like, a few decades later, the jokes didn't seem all that funny anymore.
  21. Wasn't the cruiser also used in the episode "To Serve Man", "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street" and "The Third Planet"(?) where some people were trying to escape from their planet which was about to destroy itself?

    A Rare B1rd

I took these when the ship was parked alongside the road outside Kelly AFB and Lackland AFB. I was TDY to Lackland for a few weeks of school before returning to SEA and walked off Lackland to Kelly. For an entry fee of .50 cents the custodian let me walk through the entire ship except for the wings. It was well worth the long walk and back to go inside and get these shots.

    Royal Thai Navy

Here's a few shots I took of the Royal Thai Navy aircraft based at U-Tapao in 1971. This O-1 was photographed here in florida. I asked the pilot whe it was marked in thai Navy markings and he said that it came that way so he left them on.
