  1. Here are some pictures of the VH-34 at Ft. Rucker sent to me by a friend on the scene. Photos via IPMS member Kevin Malloy. Hope they help. Rick L.
  2. There is a VH-34D in the museum at Ft. Rucker, but I don't know if it was a Presidential ttransport. I believe the interior is set up the same though. Rick L.
  3. Glad to have you here, and congratulations on the retirement. Post your work when you can and enjoy! Rick L.
  4. So theorize. If the Montanas had been built, would the Iowas have escaped the scrapers torch? Would the Montanas have been modernized for Korea, Vietnam, and beyond? You could hang a lot of Tomahawks on one. Rick L.
  5. Yep. My copy arrived on time via subscription. I donated the calendar to my wife and some deserving young child of her choice at her school. I usually pub my own calendar each year via Snapfish and my vintage Kodachrome slide collection. Rick L.
  6. I used to beat one up in A&P school. I mean, fix..... Rick L.
  7. Had that kit. Got the heebie jeebies about it and sold it. Some times I think I should have tackled it. Then I lay down and the urge to reaquire goes away. Too many like it in the stash already. That's a fantastic build. Very well done. Rick L.
  8. Thanks. I have the same deck for the South Dakota and may have to do likewise. Rick L.
  9. What did you wash the deck with? It's looking really good. Rick L.
  10. Touchdown! Or..... Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool! Depending on your continent. Rick L.
  11. My reputation precedes me, I see. Rick L.
  12. Thanks Gil. Model Master enamels. Russian Topside Green base coat, followed by the same cut with equal parts yellow and white for the faded green look. Bottom is Russian Underside Blue over some black preshade lines. Rick L.
  13. Nuts. Would not have thought WEM would go. Rick L.
  14. 1/48 Eduard I-16 type 24, Weekend edition. Only took 4 weekends. : :) Rick L.
  15. Better get it finished up. You know SAC loves to spring an ORI at any time. Rick L.
  16. The photo is Interior Green. MM 1715/FS34151 Rick L.
  17. I keep hearing Euro I Dark Green 34092. Used it on a 1/72 Thunderbolt and thought it was OK. I can't vouch for its authenticity though. Nor do I get too hung up on it. Rick L.
  18. That's super nice! Gem of a kit, and your conversion work just makes it better. Starfighter is good stuff. Well done! Rick L.
  19. My ebay buy of the month: A Monogram 1/48 P-61 in a beat up box and a Trumpeter 1/700 USS New Jersey. $8. $10 for shipping which is reasonable for a 1/48 Black Widow. Rick L.
  20. Awesome as usual, Chris! I think the water is fine. Odd observation: with all those planes parked forward blocking the wind over the bow, was there any dead air on deck to fly into when landing in those circumstances? Another reason I would rather be the first to land, not the last. Rick L.
  21. Any recommendations? Any tutorials on making water and adding ships? Rick L.
