  1. Adam: Really nice- love the markings Dave
  2. Annouced at Wonderfest "Round 2 has the license for the new Trek movie, and had a mockup box for the new Enterprise. They said expect it next spring." Papa- thought that might be tyour Enterprise there- looked great Dave
  3. Excellent And a different scheme Dave
  4. Actually, my experience on the three I built is the opposite- they take a while due to parts count but the fit is superb. Only issue with the F-15E was the wings were a little sloppy to the fuselage but a little AVVEs and a wip[e and good to go. Lots of detail. Aftermarket is there if you want it like cokpit parts, etc. I think I spent the better part of 6 months on each but it was a fun 6 months Can't wait to see your build. Not sure what martking you are doing but I may have some extras. Another good point, there are TONS of decals - the stenciling took about a week. They do offer rub on sets from Hobbydecal that are very nice and can't silver Dave
  5. And as a side note, one of IPMS own Reviewer Corps members, Ken Loup, is the owner of gator Glue- pretty cool huh? Dave
  6. Gil: You're certifiable.... can't wait to see it done though. Dave
  7. Brian: Wouldn't hold your breath- I see nothing much until fall but the Swordfish, Typhoon, another F-8 and a Bearcat Dave
  8. Papa: Great set of kits from Pegasus Hobbies- $15 each. There are also two Martian War machines- one with a diorama for a nice low price too. www.pegasushobbies.com Dave
  9. Jim: Very cool. I bought that kit and one of the Martian War Machines too- very reasonable price and looks like fun Dave
  10. Here's our review of the pod: http://www.ipmsusa2.org/reviews2/spsf-veh/...s-space-pod.htm Same emntion of the weak instructions Dave
  11. I like enamels and lacquers fine, but for all the figures and misc. things, all acrylics. Polly S is by far the worst. Gunze is perfect- best paint made with no equals. Tamiya is Ok but not as fine a piment dispersion. Vallejo and Lifetone are also good. No masking issues ever with these and dry almost instantly and much more non-toxic. One I won't use personally is ModelMaster- pure crap- thick gooey junk but it didn't use to be. I also like Xtracolor but the smell is a real problem even with a sparybooth. Dave
  12. Jim: Face looks great! Lets see him when he's all dressed Dave

    Prices

Agree- either way, I am going to watch what I buy. It'll have to be things I really want before parting with the $ Dave
  14. Hi Patrick: I like them and this is one of those polarizing things- either you're OK with them or not. Doens't seem to be much middle ground. Might have to do with cost also- resin and white metal are outrageously expensive to make. Styrene is much less and vinyl maybe cheaper yet. No real idea. Dave
  15. Eric: Dying to really work on that once the review gig is done. I even picke dup some PE for it. Love the ways yours looks Dave
  16. Hi: Also highly recommend the Badger Renegade- same work as there Sotar 20/20 http://www.ipmsusa2.org/reviews/Products/b...de-velocity.htm Dave
  17. Hi Guys: Anyone heard of or seen these guys? Saw a bunch of WWII nightfighter things on the Victroy Models web site but couldn't find anything esle about them and no pictures Dave
  18. Ralph: Your're right about the toothpicks except that I get them a coat of thin CA and let it cure. once cured- perfect and cheap Dave
  19. Hi Mike: I have never had mush luck with the "appliator things". I doa couple things. for larger doses, I put some glue on a paint jar lid and apply with a toothpick. Forsmaller and finer, i used a no. 11 blade- dull works fine and apply a thin line. For single dots, I use a small piece of wire. Any of them get gunked up, i have cheap replacements Dave
  20. Guys: First a big thanks to Gerald at Hawkeye- he helped design them. The new ones are worlds above the old ones. I swear some compaines anymore are tryig to see just how thin and tiny they can make parts. These work great on those parts Dave
  21. Gil: I feel your pain! Dave
  22. Hey Gil: Ok- how about the 1/48 Hobbyboss Demon? Thats a sweetie too! Dave
  23. Completely agree- I have the Dynavector kit and its nice but vac form. Should be some great colot options Dave
