Welcome our new Region 11 Coordinator, Bruce Drummond Sr. Bruce is a long time modeler. His IPMS/USA odyssey started in Long Island in the 80’s. He migrated (as many northerners do) to the West Palm Beach are in FL and was involved in many chapters there. He was instrumental in creating the South Florida Scale Model Consortium in West Palm Beach in 2012.
His first of many nationals was in 2008 in Virginia as well as his first experience in judging. He was the head judge for the Miscellaneous Category in Phoenix.
Tomorrow, June 1st at 5:00PM Central time, pre-registration ends for the National Convention. Take advantage of the lower price and the quick and easy check-in in Omaha now! After June 1st all registration will take place at the convention.
To All IPMS/USA Members,
Many of us are shocked and saddened by the conflict in Ukraine. Just over a month ago Ukrainians were living their lives in peace and suddenly their cities are being destroyed, fellow citizens are dying, and many are fleeing for safety in bordering countries. Truly tragic and unnecessary.
Ukraine is the home of many great model companies. I’ve received several emails from IPMS/USA members asking how they can help not only these modeling companies but also those in need in Ukraine.
How can we help? There are many ways. You can contribute individually, as a chapter or in the case of the folks from Red River Modelers, at their RiverCon-2022 show from which they donated 10% ($532) of their proceeds to Samaritans Purse (https://www.samaritanspurse.org).
There are many organizations which one can donate to. There’s a good article from Forbes highlighting how one can donate to those in Ukraine, https://www.forbes.com/advisor/personal-finance/donate-relief-to-ukraine/.
I would highly recommend that one review the organization you want to donate to at this link: Charity Navigator: https://www.charitynavigator.org/. Charity Navigator shows which groups are legitimate and the percentage of each dollar donated that goes to those in need. During a crisis like Ukraine and other natural disasters, the scammers come out willing to steal money of those in need.
Fellow modelers, today we roll out a new member and event management system that will bring IPMS/USA into the 21st century. With over 4,500 members, IPMS/USA is much too big and complex to manage on an Access database any longer! The new system brings automated processing to many of the repetitive tasks involved in keeping track of our memberships and will improve turnaround time on renewals, new memberships, convention registrations and more.
The November 2021 Executive Board Meeting Minutes have been posted.
The New IPMS/USA Membership and Convention Registration System is coming January 1, 2022!
That may not seem like an exciting announcement, but it means a big change for the better in the way IPMS/USA manages our member database and registers members for the National Convention. Here are some of the highlights of the new system, and how it will improve the way you as a member will interact with IPMS/USA.
The October 2021 Executive Board Meeting Minutes have been posted.
The results of the 2021 IPMS/USA Executive Board Election have been tablulated.

As IPMS/USA transitions to a new membership and event management system (Wild Apricot) and we update our website, we need your help. Do you have a background working with web apps or web content design? Are you a writer who can help us get the IPMS story across better on our website? The following is a list of positions we envision in support of the transition to Wild Apricot and on an ongoing basis, plus a few that are open in other roles. IPMS/USA members who volunteer will receive the required supplemental training, and your membership will be complimentary during your tenure, but your biggest satisfaction will come from helping ensure the Society’s growth and continuation through the work you are doing. We look forward to hearing from you!
