March/April V28J2 - Missing Journal Pages

Valued IPMS/USA Members:

It has been brought to our attention that a handful of copies of the last Journal (March/April V28J2) may be missing pages due to a printing error.

Please contact me directly at manager@ipmsusa.org if you are missing any pages from the last Journal so I can mail a replacement to you right away. Our printer has been notified and is working to find the cause and will provide us with credit for the journals we are replacing as well as the postage to mail them.

New IPMS/USA Treasurer

IPMS/USA is proud to announce that Mike Oberholtzer has accepted the position of Treasurer.  He has been an IPMS member since the late 1980’s, served as treasurer for the IPMS Chicago Sprue Stretchers for more than 15 years, and is a senior national judge.  Mike has worked in all areas of banking from the teller line to Information Technology and at banks both small and gigantic.

Elimination of the IPMS/USA Make and Take Program

As any member who has attended the past few Business Meetings at the National Convention could tell you, the Make and Take program has been an ongoing item of discussion in terms of cost and benefits to the Society. While the intent of MnT has always been to recruit new/young members, no correlation has been established between participation in a MnT and subsequent enrollments. In spite of this, the program was continued because of the local goodwill it was perceived to generate.

IPMS/USA is Looking For a Treasurer

This is an appointed position that serves on the Executive Board with duties that center around collecting and disbursing all monies, keeping detailed accounts of any and all transactions, publishing in the Journal an annual financial report and working with our accountant in the preparation of annual tax returns. Applicants should have a good working knowledge of accepted book keeping practices, literacy in computer accounting programs such as QuickBooks and the ability to be bonded by the society.
