  1. The simple answer to this issue is to stop booking these events in way undersized venues. We need 100,000 square feet and 700 plus room venues. Embassy suites have nice facilities but will never be large enough. Have you all forgotten about our vendors who have to pull out early on Saturday so we can convert the vendor room to a banquet room. We need to grow up folks and realize these facilities may seem priced right but DO NOT meet the needs of our convention. And I will say it $55 for convention registration is like the national minimum wage. It is not keeping up with the times and severely hampers our ability to enter other larger convention markets.

  2. As I have pointed out elsewhere, $225 for a room is what my wife is paying for a quilting convention this year. And registration for another convention I just attended was a flat $100 ... plus additional fees for classes and such. I don't know if IPMS members are truly cheap bastards, or it they haven't kept up with the reality elsewhere. In my mind, the ES breakfast is the biggest attraction -- it would cost about $30 for DW and myself ... or more ... if we had to purchase it separately.

  3. Well, after much chopping, filling sanding and other general mayhem, this combination of the RS Models P-322 1 and the MPC P-38F models have been beaten into a semblance of the very first Lightning, the XP-38. For those who might be interested in the hows and whys, the build thread is HERE. The pics: Thanks for looking in. Ed Quote "Dispensing the Tribal Wisdom since before there WAS a Tribe!"

  4. Here is my version of the Valom B-45 in 1/72. Out of box and a great set of canopy masks from Hannants. "North-American B-45A/B-45C Tornado kabuki masks all windows and clear parts, wheels, antiglare shields (designed to be used with Valom VAL72120 and VAL72121 kits) Manufacturer:..New Ware" Unbelievable time saver ....PS Dust is photography, not model. Caracal decal and they were fantastic. Alclad over Tamiya Gloss Black. Natural metal over-coated with Alclad Aqua Gloss. This gloss is not happy with Solvaset residue. All decals must be wiped down before final coat of Aqua Gloss. This kit is a bit of a modeling challenge for seams and fit in many places. O well as our friends in Britain say "Couple swipes with a sanding stick ". Forgot to mention I did add bit of riveting to enhance overall surface panels. Happy Birthday USAF and Thanks for Looking Comments always welcome Regards Bill D.
